Passing of the torch at Charcoal Marketing - Mike Cyr appointed as President
HALIFAX, NS - Charcoal Marketing is pleased to announce the appointment of its new president, Mike Cyr. Cyr succeeds business founder and CMO Mike Hayes. Charcoal, established in 2016, is now steadily growing in its ninth year of successful operations.
With a legacy in web design and development, Charcoal Marketing re-imagined itself as an integrated marketing firm that could bring ‘big brand’ marketing to small and medium sized businesses. Its service offerings have expanded over the years to include branding, PR, photography, videography, digital media buying and campaign planning. The firm now includes “fractional marketing” support to businesses needing to augment or supplement their marketing efforts.
Cyr has been managing day-to-day operations as COO and new business lead for the past two years. He will help Charcoal take the next step forward in the company’s development. Hayes will continue to consult with the company and mentor the Charcoal team.
“As an entrepreneur himself and a real go-getter and networker from his university days, ‘Cyrsie’ quickly moved into important roles with our client owners and managers”, says Hayes. “He’s a great listener, a digital native and absolutely the right guy to take this challenge on. He’s chock-full of new ideas which makes for an exciting time at Charcoal.”
"I’ve learned a lot over my six years at Charcoal, especially in solving small business challenges. As I step into the role of President, I’m excited for the opportunities ahead, with Mike Hayes continuing as a mentor,” said Cyr.
Charcoal is focused on building strong relationships and delivering solutions that meet each client’s unique needs and budget. There’s so much potential not only in Nova Scotia but beyond the Maritimes. “We know marketing can be overwhelming for small business owners, and our goal is to simplify the process for our clients,” Cyr added.
Mike Cyr’s appointment took effect on July 2nd.
