Helping Dartmouth Yacht Club Set a Clear Marketing Course
In 2024, Charcoal Marketing partnered with the Dartmouth Yacht Club to bring much-needed structure and consistency to their marketing. Before our involvement, DYC’s marketing relied on a rotating crew of well-meaning volunteers, resulting in a lack of brand cohesion and minimal digital presence. Their website? Let’s just say it had seen more birthdays than we’d care to count.
We started by overhauling that outdated website. Working closely with DYC leadership, we built a user-friendly, modern site that better reflected the club’s vibrancy and made it easier for visitors to find information, engage with events, and connect with the sailing community.
Next, we helped DYC launch a dedicated Facebook sailing community group. This space quickly became a digital gathering spot for members to connect, share experiences, and promote club activities, helping DYC expand its reach and foster a sense of belonging among both seasoned sailors and newcomers.
To attract more participants to DYC’s events, particularly their racing program, we developed cohesive branding and eye-catching promotional materials. Posters, digital campaigns, and event communications consistently delivered a clear message and drove more engagement and attendance.
Membership growth was another major focus. To capture potential new members, we created digital ebooks and resource downloads that served as lead magnets. These tools sparked interest and brought more people into the DYC fold, helping grow their membership base in a meaningful way.
